MY VOCATION THERAPIST

While I was still a lil’ young lad

And indulging in mischief was a popular fad

Friend or foe, either received my brutal animosity

Mere existence was my sole destiny

But came along then my dear Mother Mary

“Will you join me”, said she

In saving souls and gathering the lost

Yes was my prompt reply, knowing what it would cost

I then fell in love with the SDB’s

Music, games, prayers they were adept in all of these

But above all I discovered their passion

For a man who worked for youth as his mission

Now as an aspiring salesian

To live in the footsteps of Christ is my only vision

But lo at times I find myself at life’s brink

“Will I live my dream”, I often think

Alas I’ve no place to go but to my Mother

And I relax in a peaceful demeanour

“Have you forgotten that it was me”, said she

“who called and chose you to be HIS holy priest”

And then her love embraced me

Was consoled re-energised and my heart filled with glee

She poured on me graces of every kind

I felt myself stronger and my worries far behind

So whenever you feel down and blue

And find life’s challenges piercing you

Remember there is always a mother, who gives us the grace to persist

I bid you cling to her – physician and guide of our souls

She’s our vocation therapist!!!

Installation of Fr.Diego Nunes as the New Rector of Don Bosco Nashik

Fr Diego Nunes was officially installed as the new Rector for Don Bosco Parish and School (Nashik) on 2^nd August 2011.

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Fr. Michael Fernandes the provincial of the Salesian Mumbai province and attended by the members of the Salesian, parish and school community. The Eucharist was a dual celebration one of installation of the new Rector and the other of thanking the outgoing rector Fr. Ivo for his selfless service. ”A Rector is the one responsible for the entire community“ this was the basic part of the Rector which Fr Provincial spoke in his homily. Later Fr Provincial also spoke of the good qualities of Fr. Diego Nunes and that he would do well as a Rector. After the reading of the “profession of faith” and the “Oath of fidelity” Fr. Provincial gifted the Rector’s manual and Key of the tabernacle to Fr. Nunes as the Rector is the spiritual head of the community.

The Eucharist concluded with the vote of thanks given by both by Fr. Ivo Coelho and Fr. Diego.

Rickson Fernandes sdb LONAVLA, JULY 1, 2009: “I am the cloth you are the tailor, make of me a beautiful vestment for God” - Dominic Savio. Dominic Savio was like a kerchief in the hands of Don Bosco and allowed Him to mould his life. Therefore he has reached this height of Sainthood. The Apostolic boys of STD X inaugurated the Dominic Savio Novena on June 27, 2009 with the theme “The Spiritual Giant”: By placing themselves in the hands of their superiors the boys want to attain the same stature. Fr. Thomas D’Costa, the Rector addressed the boys, giving them a short life sketch of this ‘giant saint’. Speaking on the occasion he said that just as Dominic Savio was a support to his parents and understanding towards them, so also the boys should be understanding towards their superiors. In this regard a nine days programme is planned filled with spiritual activities, games and competitions and will culminate with the celebration of the feast mass on July 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. by Fr. Michael Fernandes our Provincial.
